Steps to open a Traditional or Roth IRA account through the mail.

1. Determine Which Type of IRA is Right for You
Learn more about the types of IRAs available in Especially for Your Retirement Investments.

2. Read the Prospectus
The prospectus is available to read online or to download as a PDF. You may also request a printed hard copy to be sent by U.S. Mail.

For help in choosing the right Oakmark fund for you, refer to the Funds Overview.

3. Get the Application
IRA Application To open a new Traditional or Roth IRA.
IRA Transfer of Assets Include with your IRA Application when transferring a Traditional or Roth IRA from another institution.
Also, to be used when rolling over all or part of your retirement plan from your former employer when retiring or changing jobs.

Additional forms, such as to open a regular, non-IRA account or an Education Savings Account, are available.

4. Send the Application to Us if Investing through the Mail
Mail your completed and signed application and check to:

The funds' custodian, State Street Bank & Trust Company, charges a $5 set-up fee for retirement accounts.  There is also an annual maintenance fee of $10 per fund (with a maximum annual fee of $20).
